Movie review USA DVD

3:10 To Yuma

Movie Runtime: 122 Mins

Language: English

Country: USA

Rated: R

This Drama/Western directed by James Mangold and Written by Halsted Welles and Micheal Brandt has been nominated 5 times since it was released on the 14th September 2007.

The Plot for this movie is that Rancher Dan Evans (played by Christian Bale) heads into Bisbee to clear up problems concerning his land when he witnesses a robbery lead by famed outlaw Ben Wade (played by Russel Crowe) Ben is soon captured by the law in Bisbee and soon finds himself used as one of the escorts who will take Wade to the 3:10 Yuma train in Contention for the reward of $200. The transport to Contention ends up being dangerous and filled with ambushes from indians.

This action packed Western movie lived up to its expectations and delivered one on one shoot 'em up scenes with rough characters such as Russel Crowe although at times i feel this movie is hard to follow and without the excessive gun scenes this movie can be quite mind-numbing.
overall i feel this movie isn't worth paying the full DVD purchase or rental price but if your into action packed westerns then this is one to watch.

i give this movie 2/5 thumbs up

movie review- DVD's

Knocked Up is the number 1 DVD movie in the UK this week.

Movie runtime: 133 Mins

Language: English

Country: USA

Rated: R

This comedy/drama directed and written by Judd Aptow, has been nominated 9 times and has won 2 awards this year for Best Comedy Movie 2008 and Best original screenplay.
The plot of the movie is about two people (party lover Ben and up and coming career girl Alison) they have very little in common but when they meet in a bar they end up having a one night stand, which results in a pregnancy. The two decide they have to at least try to make the relationship work for the baby's sake.

I feel this movie is a great comedy and lived up to its expectations, it is quite funny at times and is definitely worth seeing. Seth Rogen (Ben) is a confident and charismatic actor and delivers the laughs as the other characters remains calm and serious around him.
At times i feel it does tend to drag on and by the second half the script becomes a bit slow, akward and mellow dramatic.

Overall this movie was long to sit through but quite entertaining and a good effort.

I give this movie 3/5 thumbs up

movie review

I am Legend

Movie runtime: 101mins

Language: English

Country: USA

Rated: PG13

I am legend is the number 1 movie in the UK for the second week straight and has raked in £3,740,369 this weekend alone, and a total of £18,469,146 since it was screened at the box office on the 26th December 2007.
I am legend is a drama /Sci-Fi movie created by Mark Protosevich and Akiva Goldsman and starring award winning actor Will Smith .
The plot of the movie is that Robert Neville (played by actor Will Smith) is a military scientist who is the only survivor of a biochemical disease which was supposed to cure cancer 3 years previous. With only blood thirsty zombies and his trusty dog, Samantha, Robert is trying to discover a cure for this disease and to find out any other people who might have also survived.
This movie has so far managed to achieve 2 nominations for best sound 2007 (Mixing and editing) and Best actor 2008.

I feel this movie is quite moving and very convincing. Being the only actor on screen for the majority of the movie Will Smith does an extremely good job in getting the audience to feel the loneliness and giving us a picture of what it would it would be like to be the only survivor and last man on earth.
Will Smith also gave us humor within the movie which helped to make this movie more interesting and less tense.
There is also an effective use of flashbacks in this movie which helps to give the audience an incite of how we got to where we are at in the movie.
I won’t give away the ending of this movie but overall I will say this is a really powerful and fascinating movie and if you have not seen it yet you should go check it out it really is worth it!!

I give this movie 4/5 thumbs up
